STATEMENT OF SUPPORT
We believe, as does the National Adoption Center, that members of the LGBT community are interested in adoption and would consider adopting children who now live in foster care if they felt welcome and embraced by adoption agencies.
We support the Center's new initiative to reach out to the LGBT community to spread the word about children who need permanent families and to work with adoption agencies to create friendly environments for those LGBT individuals and couples who wish to pursue adoption.
I and/or my organization will work with the National Adoption Center to raise public awareness about adoption among members of the LGBT community and share ideas about how its initiative can be most effectively carried out.
