Gloria Sharp is an expectant mother. She has been waiting patiently for two years for the blessed event - the arrival of her third child, a daughter.
Sharp, 43, a West Philadelphia mother of two adult sons, attended the third annual Adoption Fair on Saturday, hoping to find a little girl waiting for a new family.
"I'm expecting a child any day," said Sharp, an administrative technician with the Philadelphia Housing Authority. "I'm looking for my daughter."
She was among more than 200 people who attended the fair sponsored by the National Adoption Center at the Bennett & Simpson Enrichment Services facility. The event gave prospective parents - singles and couples - an opportunity to find out more about adoption and meet with 20 local adoption agencies.
