More than 500,000 children in this country live in foster care; 130,000 of these children are available to be adopted. Since our inception, the National Adoption Center has found families for more than 22,000 children ranging in age from toddlers to teenagers. We are proud of the extraordinary work we do to identify permanent, loving families for the children who count on us and are pleased that we are one of the most cost-effective organizations of its kind in the United States. Of every dollar donated to the Center, eighty-seven cents goes directly to programs. In the past year, our cost of finding an adoptive home for a child has been an incredibly low $11,000. Compared to the often astronomical costs of keeping that same child in foster care (sometimes upwards of $100,000 annually), a contribution to the Center is an extraordinarily wise investment.

Honor and Memorial Gifts
Do you want to make a special, lasting gift? Making a gift in honor or memory of a loved one is a wonderful way to help waiting children. Whether it’s a birthday, an anniversary, a wedding, or a "just because," everyone will appreciate your gift.
NAC sends a special acknowledgment to the person(s) you designate, along with a brochure describing the work we do. You will receive a letter from us, thanking you for your thoughtful generosity.
