Celebration of Family
The Celebration of Family will be held on Wednesday, April 21, 2010 at the Please Touch Museum. This year we will be honoring Rev. Dr. Lorina Marshall-Blake, a former National Adoption Center Board Member and current member of its Advisory Board. Rev. Dr. Marshall-Blake has a long and rich history of supporting the Center and its mission to find permanent loving families for our most vulnerable children.
Lorina is currently Vice President of Government Relations for Independence Blue Cross. She grew up in the Philadelphia area as one of five children. In addition to her corporate responsibility, Lorina serves as an Associate Minister and a member of the board at the Vine Memorial Baptist Church in Philadelphia. Lorina says, "We have to take knowledge and pass it on. We must mentor our young men and women. We must reach back and give."
The evening will begin with Cocktails and Silent Auction and followed by a sit down dinner, a Live Auction and entertainment.
