Path to Adoption

If you live in the Delaware Valley region, and you do NOT have a completed homestudy you can fill in forms online to start the adoption process. Click here to fill in forms to start the adoption process.
If you already have a completed homestudy, please proceed to step 2.
If you have a completed homestudy, you can view waiting children on Wednesday's Child Philadelphia.
The Center will refer you to an adoption agency within two weeks.
You will attend an adoption agency information meeting.
You will begin your journey.
Agency social worker will visit your home.
Adoption homestudy is complete in 3-6 months and you are ready to have a child placed in your home.
Family registers with the Adoption Center.
You, your social worker and the Adoption Center search for children.
Your homestudy is sent to child's worker.
The child's worker presents information about the child to you.
Your family is selected for a child.
The child and your family have several supervised visits.
The child moves in with your family.
The child's social worker visits with you from time to time for at least six months.
